His thesis and subsequent research has focused on the grammar of Tuparí, an indigenous language spoken by between 350 and 400 people in the Brazilian state of Rondônia. He is currently a professor in the Department of Linguistics at Harvard. Once it is possible to resume in situ fieldwork in Rondônia, he intends to investigate the history of multilingual contact between the Tuparí and the neighboring peoples of southern Rondônia. #Brazil #Languages
